I received an email today from a visitor who was once vegetarian and has decided to go back. She has two children, ages 2 and 5 and wants them to be vegan but needs pointers in getting them to accept the new eats. My daughter has been vegan from birth, so I have no experience in getting a child to switch. Does anyone here have any advice for her? I know this is much easier than it seems. Advice in comments please…

Start them out slow. They are young enough that if you slowly take meat out of the diet and inform family members of the change they will not notice. Cut out the beef and pork first for a few months then cut out the poultry, then fish followed by cheese. The process will probably take a year but if you lifestyle the food out it’s easier to change then doing it quickly.
