This is what happens when poultry manure is used for fertilizing and runoff from meat and dairy factory farms is allowed to contaminate water supplies. Far too many farmers don’t care what happens to the waste from their productions, only their bottom line. This is a great argument for the case of not eating meat and dairy. When the production of meat goes as far to contaminate the foods which should always be safest something has to be recognized and resolved.
This is so crazy…I hate it when this stuff happens to vegetables, like that spinach scare. Luckily, I only buy tomatoes from local growers at the Memphis Farmer’s Market, and they’re not even in yet…so, I’m in the clear.
Even better, grow your own. I should have fresh from my garden next week!
