Just stumbled on your blog from Lesley’s blog. Glad to meet another Nash veggie!

Oprah goes vegan! I don’t know if I can take it. When I tell people I’m a vegetarian they ask so many dumb questions – do you eat chicken, do you eat cheese? No I don’t eat animals of any kind, and No I’m not vegan I still eat cheese. If Oprah starts I just hope she really educates people the right way!

And, I agree I might be a little crazy but that has nothing to do with me being vegetarian!

Yeah, good one on the animals roasting animals comment. I’ve been off meat since 1993, and don’t miss it – even after growing up on roast beef and hamburger. I think its funny when people try to bait me by saying things like, “ooh, doesn’t that steak on the grill smell gooood?” I reply by offering to explain how that steak got from its mother’s womb, to the stockyard, to the slaughter house, to the grill. Oh, they don’t want to hear that – ignorance is truly bliss.

Oprah’s like a cult leader, so whatever she does is the hip new thing to the soccer mom set. It can really increase visibility for our cause. Even if she does give it up after 21 days, I’m sure she’ll start incorporating more vegan foods in her diet on a regular basis. Yea for Oprah!

I can’t imagine giving up alcohol though…that’s taking things a little too far.

And thanks for your Nashville tips. I ended up eating the Streamliner at Johnny Rockets since I had the coupon and we don’t have JR here anymore. But I’ve saved the list and I’ll try some of those places next time. I’m in town a lot.

I make a point to some hard-headed people who like to argue the “point” that people are emant to consume meat that if you can kill and animal like any other animal (carnivore/omnivore) does and consume it in the same fashion then you should eat meat. By that I mean hunt it down and kill it with YOUR BARE HANDS and eat it RAW!

I don’t think I have ever seen a cat/wolf/fox etc shoot an animal or hit it in the head with a stungun then roast the carcass at 450 degrees before eating.
